The standard sizing—2″ round or 1¾″ × 2¾″ rectangular—typically manages runoff for every 35–40 linear feet of gutter under normal conditions. In areas with larger roof surfaces or heavy leaf debris, galvanized downspouts may be necessary to provide more capacity or additional downspouts. Installing gutter guards can further reduce the demand by keeping debris out of the system.

Our downspout options include a larger rectangular outlet measuring 1½″ × 2½″ (~3.75 sq in), which provides a 19% increase in flow. Additionally, our oversized rectangular downspout measures 2″ × 3″ with a 1¾″ × 2¾″ outlet (~4.81 sq in), yielding a 53% gain in flow. For even greater performance, our 3″ round downspout connects with a 3″ round outlet (~7.07 sq in), delivering an impressive 125% increase in flow. These galvanized downspouts are ideal for handling heavier downpours and are compatible with 6″ half-round gutters and 5″ ogee gutters at full capacity. When paired with 5½″ fascia gutters, the 3″ downspout may need an oval outlet to fit, which slightly reduces capacity but still offers significantly more flow than standard designs.
